I am really impressed with the Stewart Vincent Wolfe Memorial Playground. My grandson really thinks the place is great. The work performed to create the states largest playground for children is to be commended.

Monday, January 22nd, 2007It seems like the wind has not stopped blowing in Yuma for ages. Between the wind and the recent cold, going outside is becoming a chore. Some winter visitors are probably wondering if Yuma’s warmer temperatures were worth the trip. I guess I need to harken back to winters in Alaska & Colorado to remind myself why I moved to Yuma. Perhaps a hot toddy is called for to break the tedium.
Smokey Knowlton – A Living Legend!
Friday, January 19th, 2007On January 18, 2007 friends and family gathered at The Other Place at Fisher’s Landing to celebrate the 70th birthday of Smokey Knowlton, a legend of sorts on the lower Colorado River. Officially Robert V. Knowlton, “Smokey†is well known in the Yuma area from over 50 years of boating activities on the Colorado River. Many “Smokey†stories were told on this memorable afternoon stretching into the night.Â
