There has been a new series of commercials on TV lately for a cellular phone company. The hook is that the audio keeps dropping off to simulate a dropped call. The problem was I listened to these commercials several times before I realized that it was the commercial intentionally loosing sound and not the TV station with yet another interruption in their signal. I have watched TV in many large and small markets throughout the United States and Yuma seems to have one of the worst quality standards I have seen.Â
I would like to see some new television stations here in Yuma to bring competition to the market. I am sure that I am not the only person laughing when the stations tout their newscasts as being the best in the area. When you only have one competing station, it is not hard to find something you are better at than your only competitor.Â
The fact that there is only one local morning newscast is especially frustrating. I find the “Two Dames and a Dwarf Show†especially tedious. I realize that the morning show is the “second stringers†but let’s have at least a modicum of professionalism from the production staff.
